Hello!

My name is Jenny O'Brien and I began my teaching career in the Brookline Public Schools after graduating from Providence College.  I later returned to western Massachusetts to earn my Master's in Education as a reading specialist and spent ten years working as a fourth grade teacher and literacy coach in the Springfield Public Schools.

I am thrilled to have returned to my roots as a classroom teacher in the town I grew up in and to have the opportunity to give back to this community.  Longmeadow provided me with lifelong friends, teachers who nurtured my natural curiosity for learning, and coaches who shaped the way I work with children. 

Some of my favorite things about teaching are helping children truly believe in their ability to learn anything, and watching their confidence develop as they tackle challenges.

Writing, meditation and movement (yoga or dance!) are daily practices I enjoy and in my free time, I love spending time with my friends and family, playing cards and other games, reading, learning new things, going on walks in nature, and traveling to explore new places.
