Dear Families,

Welcome to 4th Grade at Center School!

​

We hope your summer is filled with reading, relaxation, and plenty of opportunities for your child to enjoy the carefree days of summer.

​

We are fortunate that Center School provides most of the school supplies your child will need. However, please purchase the following items before the first day of school:

​

• 1 pencil pouch or pencil box

• 1 three-subject spiral notebook

• 1 pack of Expo dry-erase markers

• 1 pair of headphones or earbuds (labeled with your child’s name)

• 2 boxes of tissues

• 1 package of antibacterial wipes​

We also ask that you send in a check payable to “Center School” for the Scholastic News subscription in the amount of $6.50. Please submit this during the first week of school. Thank you for your support.

To help maintain and strengthen reading skills over the summer, we strongly encourage your child to read regularly. The Storrs Library offers an engaging summer reading program that can help foster a lifelong love of reading while keeping literacy skills sharp.

​

Another important skill for incoming fourth graders is fluency with multiplication facts through the 12s. Practicing these facts over the summer will give your child a valuable head start and help build confidence for the year ahead.

We are excited to partner with you in the coming year as we work together to support your child’s growth, encourage independence, and nurture their unique skills and talents.
